Bare shelves at Village of Hope Niagara food bank in Lincoln
Officials say donations have not been keeping up with the increased demand.

There’s a lot of condiments, some canned tuna and a few cans of beans, but not much else at the Village of Hope Niagara food bank in Lincoln.
“It’s down to bare,” chief executive officer Cheryl Keddy-Scott said as she surveyed the food bank’s shelves. “It’s the lowest I’ve ever seen it. Unfortunately, (our clients) go home with less.”
Keddy-Scott said the South Service Road food bank is currently feeding about 425 Lincoln households each month, up from about 290 households a year ago.
