Niagara food banks are feeling the squeeze as lineups grow and donations stagnate, leaving operators struggling to keep up with demand while they put on a brave face while weathering the storm.

A nexus of economic factors — namely high rents, mortgage rates and food prices — are driving more people to food banks, putting pressure on the shrinking list of donors, both corporate and community.
