PRESS RELEASE - Village of Hope Niagara Founder, Cheryl Keddy-Scott CEO to the Board, Village of Hope Niagara admin, Executive Director, Joe McCarthy

Lincoln, ON – The Board of Directors at Village of Hope Niagara announce that a Founder, Cheryl Keddy-Scott will be transitioning from her role as CEO to a Board Member, leaving the administration of Village of Hope Niagara to our current Executive Director, Joe McCarthy.

As a Founder, and later CEO, Cheryl Keddy-Scott has guided Village of Hope Niagara since 2008 and has seen the impact the organization has made in our community over the years. Our volunteer base, now over 100, continues to grow. Our donors continue to see the value in the strength and hope our charity extends to those in need in our community.

Village of Hope Niagara has become a well-established and known charity, regionally and beyond our community. Over the years our programs and services have changed lives in our community, and with the assistance of social media, news of our works has reached and influenced many to follow our charity, and learn more about our activities and our community.

For the past 18 years, Cheryl Keddy-Scott, along with Joe McCarthy, have maintained our constant focus on the mission, of helping people in need and taking the time to listen to their struggles and concerns, and then working alongside them to make a lasting impact on their lives, and giving them HOPE that they are not alone in the struggle.

After 40 years of working in community service, caring and sharing with our neighbours in need, we know that Cheryl is not finished with Hope, and with being the difference. Over the coming year Cheryl will be travelling across Canada, speaking with other charities on poverty, and making a difference, sharing the story and experiences of our Village of Hope Niagara.

Cheryl Keddy-Scott’s transition to Board Member will be paced and gradual over the course of this year, 2025 when Village of Hope Niagara’s direction and administration will be the role of Executive Director, Joe McCarthy.

We congratulate Cheryl on her accomplishments with Village of Hope Niagara and are excited for the new vistas she will challenge in the years ahead.
